On August 26, 2026, catastrophic flash flooding — triggered by a glacial lake outburst — tore through Nepal's Rasuwa, Nuwakot, and Dhading districts along the Nepal-China border, destroying communities and livelihoods across the region.
For thousands of young people, the consequences will extend far beyond the immediate emergency: when a family suddenly loses its ability to earn a living, education becomes unaffordable.
A student forced to drop out of university due to disaster may lose far more than a semester — they may lose the opportunity to complete a degree and build the future they've spent years working toward.
U-GO created the Nepal Futures Fund to make sure a family's sudden crisis does not become a young person's permanent loss of opportunity.

Emergency Grants to keep students enrolled
A university drop-out prevention program offering micro-grants to any eligible student, male or female.
EXPAND
New Long-Term University Scholarships for 200 young women
U-GO’s core program will support these women with financial assistance and mentorship through graduation.
SECURE
Future Fund for orphaned youth
Endowment to secure future university scholarships for children orphaned by the Nepal floods.
Thanks to a group of founding donors, every gift to launch the Fund is being matched dollar-for-dollar, up to $350,000.
