Career: Nursing

Meet Ashma. She is a proud U-GO graduate with a Bachelor of Arts in Nursing Science from Norvic College of Health Sciences & Technology in Kathmandu, Nepal. She completed a three-year diploma-level program that qualifies her to work as a staff nurse. The program provided foundational nursing education and skills, preparing her for roles in hospitals and community health settings. 

Growing up in a modest household in Jhapa, Nepal, with her mother as the sole earner, Ashma faced serious financial barriers to becoming a nurse. The U-GO Nepal Scholarship made her education possible and inspired her to dedicate her career to serving underserved communities and improving access to healthcare for those who need it most.

Now, a home nurse serving her community, Ashma is proof that supporting a U-GO scholar creates a ripple of care, opportunity and hope.
